What is a Dedicated IP Address ?

I know a  hosting company that offers this on its gold package. I am thinking to go for the silver package which is cheaper. Am I going to loose much if I don’t have a dedicated IP ?
I am planning to have some joomla sites in the server.

    The only real advantage of a Dedicated IP is that you can install secure certs so if you plan on any https activity, get the Dedicated unit. Be aware that without a dedicated IP if anyone on the server spams and gets the IP blacklisted you will be also.

    dedicated IP address is kind of like a static IP address but, it will show your companies name instead of the hosting company’s name.
